For this year`s service learning project, our class decided to go to Delta Senior High School. When I heard the news at first i seriously thought that it was a stupid idea. But after pictures and stories from Ms Sheikha,I was really looking forward for the trip.Firstly, seeing and interacting with mentally disabled students would be a first for me and I was looking forward to make new friends and teaching them sports.Secondly,I did not know how they would react upon seeing us.And lastly,I wanted to have fun.

When we went to the school,we saw many students and they did not look any different from us.I volunteered to play football and during my football match with them, all the players from Delta Senior School took instructions from their coach and captain and did not argue. Their cooperation showed on the pitch as well. This made me realise how petty my friends and I can sometimes be and how we should really change this side of us.In the end we lost to them by a big margain.

The most memorable experience from the trip was when I got my first serious injury.During the football match,a player from the opposing team caught me suddenly with a powerful shot that stuck my palm hard. This actually caused a radius fracture on my left hand. But apart from this injury,I had a wonderful and a fruitful trip.
