3C Marcus(12)

This whole service learning had changed my views towards those mentally challenged students. I always had this mindset that these students were stupid and really had no common sense at all, but after our class went to delta senior school to play some games with them, they surprise me with the amount of intelligence they possess. They were very friendly and poses no threat, which I thought they would. They were very good host and I really enjoyed myself. I felt ashamed at what I made them out to be and really felty grateful that we were given this opportunity.

What Stands out best was the determination they showed me. I was playing basketball and even though this was just a friendly, they gave their 110% throughout the game, which really enlighten me as we were just fooling around and did not take them seriously. The defining moment was that they never gave up till the very end and eventually won. I learnt some valuable lesson from them and it really made me felt grateful to them.

I would definitely contribute to the community after what I experienced, be it donating or even to the simplest task of playing a basketball game. I will forever remember this incident as it had been a memorable experience for me.
